Kissin’ Frogs

You don’t have to kiss a bunch of frogs to find your prince. That’s how you get diseases….physically and emotionally.

Think about it: In Genesis 2, God made Adam fall into a deep sleep while he prepared Eve for him. As soon as God (not Eve!) woke him up, he knew that was his wife. Likewise, we, as women, shouldn’t provoke “love” or jump from relationship to relationship. When the time is right we’ll know, because it will be mutual. Like Eve, we can just enjoy our time being refined and prepared by God – whether that preparation is for a husband or for Christ when He returns; we should just find joy in dwelling in the presence of God.

The Beloved in Song of Solomon urges young women not to provoke love before its due season (Song of Solomon 2:7). Trust me, I know how hard it gets to be patient, but know that you are not alone! There are tons of girls and women out in the world with a desire to marry, including myself, but we need not let that blurry our sight and keep us from walking with God. Dwell with Him, in His presence. Get to know Him as Abba (Father). Learn about how much He knows you inside out, including your desires (Psalm 139). His plans for you are perfect and only to bring about goodness (Jeremiah 29:11). You’re worth so much more. Each of us was bought at a hefty price, death on a cross. The man (not frog) who is meant for you will be willing to display that same type of love (Ephesians 5:25).

I’ll be praying for you and I pray that you’ll keep me accountable too. Just step away from the frogs (guys, you too!) and run as fast as you can towards God; that’s where the love is 🙂
